Moana 2 is a fun, exciting, and wild adventure across the ocean once more. It starts off with Moana being strong, leading her home of Motunui with confidence, but there is still something for her to find. During Moana 2, she’s called to go on a new journey to save her island and her people from a God that is keeping the different ocean people. The movie is great at showing how Moana has grown since the first film. She’s not just a brave girl, but now she’s also a leader who has to balance her responsibilities with the call to adventure. Also returning is Maui, the demigod, played by Dwanye “The Rock” Johnson who is funny, but a little annoying.
Moana 2 features new song writers and lyricists, Bear and Barlow. This musical duo is the first all- women song writing team, as well as the youngest. Songs include
“Beyond,” “Get Lost,” and “What Could be Better than This.” The songs are good too, though not as unforgettable as “How Far I’ll Go” from the first movie. Still, they’re pretty good, and some of them will definitely get stuck in your head. One of the coolest aspects of Moana 2 are the new characters. There is this mystical sea creature, Nalo, that helps Moana, and its powers are super cool to watch on screen.
It’s a great way to bring new magic and mystery into the story. Plus, the theme of protecting the environment and respecting nature is really important and makes the movie feel special. Overall, Moana 2 is a great sequel for fans of the first movie that will make viewers want to sail across the sea!
