🔔🎄🎺🎵 Listening to the FHS Madrigals are one of our favorite Franklin High School traditions. Performing December 20, 2024, throughout the halls of Franklin High School, the FHS Madrigals help celebrate the Holiday Season of 2024. We look forward to hearing them each year in this yearly tradition.

"God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen"

The Madrigals dress in Renaissance Era costumes to sing classic Christmas songs, including "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen," "Deck the Halls," and "Wassail, Wassail, All Over the Town." Their performances not only bring holiday cheer but also provide a glimpse into the history of music and traditions.

"Deck the Halls"

According to Merriam-Webster, a Madrigal is 1. "a medieval short lyrical poem in a strict poetic form," and 2. "a complex polyphonic unaccompanied vocal piece on a secular text developed especially in the 16th and 17th centuries" (Merriam-Webster). Hearing the harmonious voices echoing through the halls is a magical experience, transporting listeners to a different time.

Spotted again 👀 in the C300 Hall, sounding angelic, the FHS Madrigals! 🤩🎵🎄🎼 Their dedication to preserving this art form is truly inspiring, and their music continues to unite the FHS community in holiday spirit. Thank you to the FHS Madrigals for your performances today.
