Halloween. Whether you’re embracing the festive spirit or hosting a haunted party, these recommendations will ensure you a spooky good time. Halloween is the most iconic and interesting part of the fall season. It’s one of the only times of the year where people can fully express and embrace themselves. Walking through neighborhoods and seeing the many spooky decorations, orange glowing lights coming from the many carved pumpkins, and people dressed up in their very unique and creative costumes. The joy from Halloween never grows old and is a great way to get the community together to bond and celebrate.
Samson Adeniyi, a senior at Franklin High School, shared with us his favorite ways to celebrate Halloween and the many different Halloween traditions he participates in. “The perfect Halloween night to me is getting dressed up and meeting up with my friend group
to go trick or treating. Most likely we’ll end up going to expensive/rich neighborhoods because they have the best candy and also the biggest candy bars. Then after we’re done trick or treating we’ll pull up to a Halloween party, where we’ll just have fun and enjoy ourselves. After that we would go to one of my friends’ houses and watch a bunch of Halloween movies, play games, and eat lots of food.”
We’ve also reached out to another Franklin High School student, Marc Esser, our very own class secretary. He was able to share with us his top Three Halloween movie recommendations. “My first favorite Halloween movie is “Terrifer 2” because it’s very gory and brings out the Halloween vibe. My favorite part of the movie is when Art the clown shows a little bit of humor. In addition, my second favorite is “Scary Movie” because it’s really funny and more of a comedy than a horror film. My third and final favorite is Hotel Transylvania because it reminds me of my childhood and is overall a simple nice movie.
From trick or treating, to spooky haunted houses, Halloween movies, and the plenty of unique costumes, Halloween is a holiday that offers many things to anybody and everybody. It brings people together and is a great way to express yourself. So put on your best costume, carve that pumpkin, and dive into the spooky fun because this special
holiday only comes once a year.
